Welcome to our Barracuda Vivante Review. The information here is the result of detailed product research from customer testimonials, manufacturer sources and our own personal experience with this product.
The Barracuda Vivante is designed as an entry level road bike that comes with features that compete with some higher specification bikes.
It is currently one of the top 3 most popular bikes on Amazon right now and has an overall score of 3.8 out of 5. If you are new to the world of cycling or looking for a cheaper, healthier way to get to work then this would be a solid choice.
Following the instructions given in the manual the Barracuda Vivante should take about 30 minutes to assemble and it is relatively straight forward.
If you have never picked up a tool of any kind before then it may be worth having it assembled at a local bike shop to avoid any mistakes that could cause problems later on.
The handlebars come pre-assembled, which means no messing around trying to get the gears assembled either as gears tend to be the most awkward part of putting a bike together. The brakes may require a slight adjustment before you take it out for a spin so be sure to test them properly.
The saddle on the Barracuda Vivante received mixed reviews overall and some riders recommended ordering a replacement straight away, given the low price of the bike would still be good vale compared to a bike purchased from the high street.
The saddle is perfectly fine for a daily commute to work, however if you are planning any long distance rides then a higher quality saddle may be required for even greater comfort.
Another feature that of the Barracuda Vivante that received mixed reviews was the gears. I did not have any problems using grip shift gears and given the price of the bike they did exactly what was required of them. The general consensus among many cyclists is that thumb shifters are superior.
The Barracuda Vivante is lightweight at around 15kg which is comparable to bikes which can cost twice as much. To get a bike significantly lighter than that would cost many times more again.
