Features and Riding
The Viking Westwood was impressive right out of the box. Shipping was fast and assembly is very easy.
There are some users that noted a part was missing, such as the stand missing, but this was not the case in my experience. Upon unpacking the bike, you will want to be careful when removing it from the box, you will have to assemble the following pieces:
- Front wheel
Thankfully, the only issue you may have is with the pedals, but they are clearly labeled and allow this bike to be assembled by even the least handy man or woman. The instructions included could be better, but they will suffice. The issue is that the instructions are not specific to the Westwood model, but they clearly demonstrate how to assemble your bike quickly.
Once assembled, you are ready for your first ride. The Viking Westwood is very comfortable with the saddle padding conforming right to your rear. Without the need to switch gears, you will simply ride this bike at your own pace.
The handlebars are able to be adjusted if needed and you will want to ensure that the seat post and handlebars are set to the proper height for the best ride possible. You will notice that the rear rack comes with a spring loaded hinge. This makes it ideal for attaching a box to the back if you see fit.
The front basket is surprisingly durable and will be able to hold a bag or two of groceries with ease.
The Alloy ‘V’ type brakes allow for great stopping power and the mudguard keeps the user from getting their clothes dirty when riding through puddles. The brakes are controlled with a beautiful chrome lever near the handlebar grips.
The grips and seat both feature a brown leather color and are very comfortable even when riding for long distances.
- Great aesthetics.
- V type brakes.
- Single speed.
- Durable front basket and rear rack.
- Easy to assemble.
- Very comfortable.
- Some users found the bike to be too heavy.
It is very hard to find anything not to like about the Viking Westwood. In this Viking Westwood review, we examined all of the bike’s main features and found it to be very durable and easy to assemble. This is not a racing bike by any means and while some users complain about the weight, it definitely helps the bike stay grounded and is best suited for this style of bike.
With the classic Dutch bike look, amazing quality and even a cute front basket, this bike is the perfect option for any lady – young or old.
